About Dr. LaFlair

Dr. LaFlair is originally from Ogdensburg, NY and graduated high school from Ogdensburg Free Academy (OFA) in 1988. He and his wife Tracy, a physician from Lisbon, NY, returned home to open individual practices. He was highly involved in sports and participated in football and track at OFA. Undefeated his junior and senior year for shot put and discus, Dr. LaFlair still holds the VanDusen record for the discus. Currently, he is a volunteer track coach at OFA and enjoys working with the students, advancing their skills.

Graduating Cum Laude from St. Lawrence University in 1992 with a Bachelor's degree in biology and a minor in chemistry, Dr. LaFlair enjoyed time on the Dean's list and membership with the Biology Honor Society, as well as participated in track at St. Lawrence University, receiving the Coach's Award his senior year and was the New York State Shot Put Champion. He was a member of the Biology Club and Outing Club as well.

Deciding to attend the School of Dental Medicine at Stony Brook, Dr. LaFlair was awarded the St. Lawrence County Dental Scholarship and graduated with honors in 1996. He was class president and class representative at the annual conference for the Dental Society of the state of New York.

Dr. LaFlair received the award for Excellence in the Management of Oral Facial Pain Disorders upon graduation, and completed his general practice residency at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse in 1997. Moving back to Ogdensburg and opening a private dental practice in 1999 was a dream come true. Dr. LaFlair has strong ties to the community and enjoys providing exceptional dental care in a relaxed atmosphere to every 1 of his clients.



He continually engages in furthering his education through advanced programs, making certain he is able to provide the best and most-effective dental practices to his patients.

Dr. LaFlair enjoys additional training with Invisalign® and traditional braces, as well as enjoys seeing a person's response with their new smile, making everything in his life worthwhile.

The Staff

Assistants and Front Desk 

Renee and Suellen make up the dental assistant / front desk team. Together they have over 20 years combined experience. They assist Dr. LaFlair to assure you have as comfortable and relaxing dental experience as possible. Suellen completed her Certified Dental Assistants; CDA program through Monroe Community College and completed her board exam to become a Licensed Certified Dental Assistant. Renee is happy to assist you with scheduling and does her best to try and accommodate your busy schedules. She is also available to answer any billing and insurance questions that may arise. Together they will make sure your visit is a pleasant one.

Dental Hygienists

Stephanie graduated from Massena Central school in 1997 and attended Onondaga Community college for dental hygiene. She successfully completed her board exam after graduation in 2000. She has worked with Dr. LaFlair since graduation and worked for 2 years with Dr. Car Scrugg’s in Massena.

Maria is a 2002 graduate from Onondaga Community College in Syracuse where she received he associates degree in applied science in Dental Hygiene. After successful completion of her national and regional boards she began her career in Syracuse, NY. She worked for a few years with NMC General Dentistry before deciding to relocate back to the North Country. Maria has been employed with Dr. LaFlair since 2004.

Both Maria and Stephanie attend regular continuing education to offer their patients the most advanced hygiene care available. They have also successfully completed the Orthodontic training for dental auxiliary and enjoy providing these expanded services. They enjoy working closely with their patients to ensure they receive the best care possible.
